A notification when the ground moves near you

Choose a place, a distance and a magnitude. When an agency publishes an earthquake that matches, your browser shows a notification with a link to the event.

This is not an early warning. Notifications arrive after the earthquake has been recorded and published, typically a few minutes later. For warnings, follow your national agency.

How it works

  • No account. Your browser gives us a push address; we store it with the place, radius and magnitude you chose, and nothing else.
  • We send at most one notification per earthquake, and only for events less than 30 minutes old.
  • Alerts live on this browser and device. Remove them here at any time, or by blocking notifications for the site.
  • E-mail digests (a daily or weekly summary for your area) are planned and not available yet.
